Been way too long!

So as I arrive this morning (my day off actually) and begin to read scripture I come face to face with the words from the Apostle Paul in his 2nd letter to the Corinthians, in chapter 6, "As God??s co-workers we urge you not to receive God??s grace in vain. 2 For he says, ??In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.? I tell you, now is the time of God??s favor, now is the day of salvation." This strikes me because I wonder how often we simply toss aside God's message when it comes to us? How often do we not like what it asks, or decide that it really can't mean what it says? We need to learn to listen and apply His every word to our lives no matter how hard the message, or how uncomfortable it makes us! Had a gentleman yesterday in Life Groups tell us there is one thing God cannot do....Lie. His Word, all of it not just the parts we like, but ALL of it is truth! If we begin to live with this knowledge each day what does that change for you? Who can it affect? Think about it.

" God is with us; he is our leader."

"12 God is with us; he is our leader." 2 Chronicles 13:12A In this scripture the great message is delivered, so many of our own have done things against what God has for us, we need to remember He is our leader and we need no other! If we would simply realized that as His church each of us working together needs to hold true to what He has taught us in His word, there is no "gray" area or way to make it different, it is what He said, no compromise! My prayer is that as churches we can all begin to see that while I love my doctrine/theology and you yours we have much more in common in Jesus why not unite together under His word and beat the devil instead of beating each other up on points that mean nothing...rant over! Go and love each other as we are called to do! Pastor Ron

It is hot today and I am busy preparing for our food distribution this weekend. Last Friday night we had a thank you BBQ for all who help during this time! There were at least 5 different churches represented, and I am realizing that this whole sense of community that I try hard to build, is being built by God! I can just do my part, and let Him work in this whole issue. We often try to do too much, we can just rest in Him and let His much more capable hands work. Don't despair! He is busy working even if you don't see it!

I want what I want

I am studying for this Sunday and I am reminded of so many challenges from the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Ephesians.

Ephesians 4:22-32

“22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 “In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

We need to put off the old man, the old ways of thinking and doing...It really is that simple our thinking needs to change! We need to realize all of our old ways are not what God wants from us!  Let's be different!  Let's get a little crazy and be so different that the world sees only Christ in us!
